On mobile

On a phone the campaign film fills the screen, the shop becomes a single column of pieces, and product photos turn into a swipeable gallery.

The client

Delphenes is a Lagos fashion house built on handcraft. Its founder, Adesewa, started with crochet and grew it into a label of bags, knitwear and sets, made with skilled artisans and designed with a modern eye. The pieces sit somewhere between craft and fashion, and the brand is clear that it is not a craft shop and not just a bag brand. It is about bringing handmade work into contemporary wardrobes.

The brief

The website had to feel as considered as the pieces. Quiet, editorial and confident, so the photography and the craft do the talking. It also had to work hard as a store: every piece is made to order and ships from Lagos to anywhere in the world, so production times, sizing, delivery and customs all needed to be clear without the page turning into a wall of policy.

What I did

I designed and built the whole site from scratch as a custom build, and deployed it on Netlify on the brand's own domain. No template, no store builder, nothing that would make Delphenes look like anyone else.

The logo and brand identity are by Iweanyegbune Okafor. I took that identity, the serif wordmark and the deep wine and chocolate tones of the collection, and built the whole experience around it.

Home

The home page opens on the campaign film for the Nova collection, with the collection name and one quiet link to shop. Everything else steps back. Below the film, the pieces are laid out with plenty of space around the photography, the way a lookbook would show them.

Shop

The shop can be filtered by collection, by category, or by the Delphenes Archive, so past pieces keep a home instead of disappearing. Every piece can be saved to a wishlist straight from the grid.

Product page

Size and colour choices, a size guide, and everything a made to order customer needs to know: how long production takes, delivery estimates for Lagos, the rest of Nigeria and international orders, and who pays customs. Related pieces sit underneath to keep people browsing.

Our story

A page that introduces the philosophy behind the label and the founder behind it. For a brand built on handwork, the people matter as much as the product, so the story gets its own space instead of a paragraph in the footer.

Built to grow

Customers can create accounts and keep a wishlist. A newsletter sign up collects emails for new drops, and the site is connected to Meta so the team can measure their Instagram and Facebook campaigns. Press, shipping, returns and FAQ pages are all in place for when the brand gets bigger.

What this shows

I can design for a luxury brand without getting in its way. Delphenes needed a site with restraint, that still handles the practical side of selling handmade, made to order pieces to customers anywhere in the world. I designed it, built it from scratch and shipped it on the brand's own domain.
